United Streaming

I had never heard about united streaming until tonight. I think it is a very good resource for teachers to have. Every student learns in a different way, but for most people when they are able to see something in reality it clicks for them. United Streaming offers tons of videos to aid teachers in this. I was also impressed with the number of teacher resources that it offered. There were lesson plans and quizzes for every subject area as well as video, audio, and pictures for your students to see and here. It brings all aspects of learning into one place. The application I discovered and found most useful was the world atlas. When you click on a country it brings up videos about every aspect of the country, government, culture, history, and people. This would be something very valuable to me in teaching my students about Spanish speaking countries. I think that it is a valuable tool for all teachers and hope that the school I am teaching at in the fall has this database.

Video Conferencing

Video conferencing can be an easy way for us to have a guest speaker that may be unable to come talk to our class in person. This would allow them to see and hear the people almost as though they were standing in front of them. It can give students a broader view of the world, things like this actually expand your classroom. I think it is a great way to enhance students learning experience and get them involved in their own studies.

Class 4

My name is Kelley. I am graduating in May and I plan on using technology to engage my students in learning. I will use publisher, power-point, and word mainly since I am going to be a Spanish teacher. I think it is very important to learn about the technology that is all around us. Literacy, now, not only includes reading, writing, and speaking, but also technology as well. Our students need to be able to properly use technology in order to keep up in today's changing work place.
